People from Pakistan and five other nations have been barred from entering Kuwait according to new visa plan of Kuwait.
The interior ministry of Kuwait decided that Kuwaiti embassies and consulates are allowed to issue any kind of visa to any country other than six. These countries are Pakistan, Iran, Syria, Yemen, Iraq and Afghanistan.
In the past, during 2011 a similar ban was imposed on nationals of these six countries and the reasons given for ban were attributed to “difficult security conditions in these six countries” and also “remarkably increasing tendency of Kuwait-based nationals from these countries to apply for visas to bring into Kuwait relatives who faced or could face serious challenges in their home countries”.
It is highly noticeable that Kuwait has 2.2 million expatriates which is more than its total population. In the past, Kuwait’s interior ministry was lenient in issuing visas to people who fulfill their requirements but now ban on the six countries including Pakistan shows that they really consider these countries a threat.
It is a great concern for our nation that we are not welcomed abroad and even Muslim countries are trying to restrict the entry of Pakistani citizens into their lands.
Pakistani citizens are facing hard times in Saudi Arabia and Malaysia where thousands of Pakistanis are deported while many are still waiting for their fate in jails. Their condition in jail is very poor and Pakistani government also is not taking serious steps to get them free.
