Tariq Ranjha, a pilot of PIA (Pakistan International Airlines) played with the lives of 70 passengers while landing on London Heathrow Airport.
Control tower refused to allow landing to PK 787 of PIA flying from Karachi to London. Due to bad weather the pilot was directed to travel to Manchester and land there. Tariq Ranjha kept insisting to land the flight on Heathrow airport and he took the stance that a passenger named Qasim Abu Bakar was in bad condition and needed instant medical attention.
Situation was not resolved and Tariq Ranjha kept on flying the plane in the skies of London although weather was bad and also wasted fuel worth of millions. Control tower kept on sending the messages directing the pilot to detour to Manchester or Leeds.
When the pilot did not give up on landing the flight on Heathrow airport, the control tower after one hour allowed the pilot to land the plane on Heathrow airport in rough weather conditions.
That was not all but London Metropolitan Police searched the aircraft for 40 minutes. Finally after 40 minutes they cleared the aircraft and passengers were allowed to leave the plane.
British Civil Aviation authority has send warning to Pakistan International Airlines to hold investigation against Tariq Ranjha to determine why the pilot risked lives of 70 passengers by landing the plane in rough weather conditions. They also said that the medical care could have been provided at Manchester airport if the pilot had listened to their directions and had landed the plane over there. Instead he wasted more than one hour in London and landed in rough conditions.
