Pakistani brother-sister team of Samina Baig and Mirza Ali have conquered the third peak of their expedition. They intend to climb seven peaks in seven continents of the world.
Mount Kilimanjaro is situated in Tanzania and its top is 5895 meter high. It is regarded the highest mountain in Africa. Mehboob Ali who is the elder brother of Samina Baig and Mirza Ali told media the news almost at 8 AM PST. He informed that both his brother and sister were fine and their spirits were high.
Mehboob Ali said that
I and my family are extremely happy and proud that Samina and Mirza are hoisting Pakistan’s flag on the mountain peaks of foreign continents. Their achievement should be a matter of pride for the entire nation.
This the third peak Samina Baig and Mirza Ali intend to conquer out of the total seven peaks around all continents of the world. Samina Baig and Mirza Ali belong to Shimshal also known as the valley of mountaineers. It is situated in Gojal tehsil of Hunza-Nagar District in Gilgit Baltistan. Both of them left Pakistan in December 2013 on this 8 month expedition.
It is important to note that together highest mountains in each continent of the planet are called the Seven Summits.
Most of the people think that Samina Baig and Mirza Ali will be the only siblings to ever accomplish the feat of conquering the Seven Summits.
Samina Baig became the first-ever and the only Pakistani woman to have conquered Mount Everest in 2013. According to Mehboob Ali, Samina Baig and Mirza Ali will now return to Pakistan before they set again to conquer Puncak Jaya peak in Indonesia.
