Warid Telecom has decided to offer selected customers a chance to experience the 4G LTE trial service and this trial is coming soon.
According to Warid Telecom, those customers who were already using 4G enabled handsets are approached and are being asked to upgrade their current SIMS to 4G LTE compatible SIM cards and be a part of the 4G LTE trials.
Warid Telecom even stated that they are preparing to ship the upgraded SIMs to the doorstep of customers before the trial for 4G LTE is launched.
Those customers already using the 4G enabled handsets will be provided with access to Warid Telecom’s 4G network for the trial and it seems that during the trial duration, no charges will be applicable.
The time and date are not mentioned and it is still unclear that when Warid Telecom is starting the trial for 4G LTE but it seems that the time is not far as up gradation of the SIMs by Warid has already started.
Previously Warid has shown intent that 4G LTE services will be launched in September 2014 and it seems that they will be able to make it happen by the end of September 2014.
According to social media sources, different customers of Warid confirmed that Warid’s call centers approached them in order to inquire about being part of the 4G LTE beta testing. After they confirmed, they were told that soon they will receive new 4G LTE enabled Warid SIMs and they will be able to test the services.
It is important to mention here that 4G and 4G LTE SIMs are different than 2G/3G SIM cards. That’s not all but those who wish to experience the beta services of Warid 4G LTE must have 4G enabled handsets as well. It is expected that with 4G LTE network, users will be able to enjoy 50 MB/sec upload and download speed on their mobile phones.
Warid is working in an aggressive manner to start its 4G LTE services in Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Faisalabad and Gujranwala and Warid has contracted Ericsson for LTE network rollout in Pakistan.
