Food Panda and Eatoye have decided to merge all their operations and both these two will continue to operate as separate brands. Both these brands will be working under the same roof and administration.
According to the news, Nauman Sikander and Rai Umair will lead all the operations. For all those who are not familiar with: Food Panda had acquired EatOye earlier this year. Then they decided to operate separately as different companies.
The process of merging the operations is still under consideration. However, Sources suggested that this decision has came from Germany (global headquarter for Rocket Internet).
The sources also said that no employee was removed from either of the companies as a consequence of the merger. Workforce combined together for the company will stand around 50 to 60 individuals. It will be very interesting to see that how a single team leads two brands in similar, offering the same services.
The Pakistani food market is worth around Rs. 15 billion and only 1% of it is online. Having two powerhouses working under one roof now.
The Food Panda group is a global mobile food delivery marketplace headquartered in Berlin, Germany and operating in 40 countries and territories, including India, Pakistan, Russia, Brazil, Mexico and Singapore. The service allows users to select from local restaurants and place orders via the mobile application as well as the website. The company has partnered with over 58,000 restaurants.
EatOye is an online takeaway food delivery and table booking service, headquartered in Karachi, Pakistan and operating in 13 Pakistani cities. The platform allows customers to search for their favorite local take away restaurants and place orders online, choose from pick-up or delivery options. As of April 2014, EatOye has over 1000 restaurants offering services in Pakistan. They are intermediary in the delivery of around 1000 meals a day and have handled over half a million transactions since site launched in May 2013.
