IT in Pakistan is progressing by leaps and bounds and within coming years it is expected that it will be resting among the top IT countries of the world.
Several years back, IT wasn’t well known by the Pakistanis and today in 2015, this industry has generated $2.5 billion during the fiscal year 2014-2015. It would be worth mentioning here in the year 2014, IT in Pakistan got some notable growth of 35% and rate of registration of software houses and call centers exceeded up to 12 % during the first 8 months of 2014-2015.
As observing the tremendous growth in IT sector, earlier this year Ministry of IT declared the ongoing year as “the Year of IT”.
As the way the industry is spreading around, IT experts believe Pakistan’s potential industry will be gaining more than US$ 5 billion before 2020.
Uplifting the current status, Pakistan’s Software Export Board (PSEB) also made a big revelation, which tells that Pakistan is now included in ‘UpWork’s ‘World’s Largest Portals for Freelancing IT Work. Not only this, Pakistan is also one of the top countries in terms of freelance earnings.
PSEB empowered by the IT Ministry aims to strengthen and promote the IT industry of Pakistan both locally and globally. Keeping in view the current progress in IT sector, it played a pivotal role in making it possible.
