Reham Khan, the famous heart throb of Pakistani youth is all set to co-produce a Romantic Comedy film “Janan” which is expected to release in the coming year. The film has been co-produced by a model-turned-actress Hareem Farooq.
“Janan” which has been written by Osman Khalid Butt and is directed by Azhar Jafferi. He is also the person who directed Hareem Farooq’s debut film Siyah which released in 2013.
In an interview, Hareem talked about Reham Khan ending up as the producer of the film.
“Reham has always been fond of promoting art, and she wanted to play a role in promoting the local entertainment industry. We shared the script of the movie with her and she liked it so we decided to collaborate on the project.”
In the past week, Reham tweeted about producing two Pakistani films this year. Both of them are commercial films. The first one is a rom com.
The plot of the movie revolves around a pukhtoon girl who returns from Britain after education as said by Hareem. The story defies all the stereotypes about Pakhtoon families in Pakistan.
There were rumors about the film being in pushto but Hareem denied such rumors, clarifiying that film will be in Urdu, does not matter if the story is about a pakhtoon family.
There are two films under production this year. Both are commercial.The first one is a RomCom. The story is about a Pukhtoon family.

She further said that, “I have always wanted to promote a softer image of the country, and I chose the story of a Pakhtun family because they are usually the most misunderstood and ridiculed ethnicity.”
Also there were talks about Reham Khan being the director of the film, but Hareem Farooq clarified that and mentioned that Azhar Jafferi is going to be the director of the film and denied such rumors. Talking about the cast, Hareem said that other cast members have not yet been finalized, except for the female lead. The role will be played by Armeena Khan who is a Canadian based Pakistani actress.
“Janan” will mark the entry of Hareem in the glamorous world of production. Since the release of her last film, she has been seen in many television dramas.
She has appeared in Anwar Maqsood’s “Pawney 14 august” and she is currently doing a role along Fahad Mustafa in the TV drama “Dusri Biwi”.
