Three day annual Urs of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai has commence from today (25 November), the Sindh Government has called for a public holiday in the province on the 3rd and the last day of the Urs on 27 November (Friday). The Sindh Government keeping in view the contributions of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai called for a holiday in honor of the great Sufi Sindhi poet.
The notifications issued by the Sindh government on Tuesday reads that all of the educational institutes and offices of provincial government would remain close on the day.
This year’s Urs will be mark as the 262nd Urs of the Sindhi Sufi poet and is regarding as the one of most influential Sindhi poet who holds an uncanny reflection of what Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Rumi tried to convey.
His mystic work are still much popular around the globe as his work has been translated in different languages. His collected poems were assembled in compilation Shah Jo Risalo, which is the poetic compendium of great Sufi poet.
