Every year Quacquarelli Symbols (QS) issue the rankings of most popular universities in the world. This annual ranking is based on the search of Timers Higher Education World University Rankings and then independent search by QS in the overall position of the university, subject rankings, and some various other indicators. Every year almost five to seven Pakistani universities managed to make the name in the QS World University Rankings. This year, six Pakistani universities have made the name in the Top 1000 QS Rankings 2015-16.

There is a decline in the position of NUST with the each year pass. The overall position of the university in the country is flourishing. The field of sciences and technology are the areas of specialty of the university.
Quaid e Azam University
Quaid e Azam, university ranking at international level has also witnessed downfall this year. However, for past many years, the university is at the top position in the list of HEC Top 10 Universities in Pakistan.
Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS)
The overall rank of LUMS in Asian University Rankings has improved but there is not so much progress at QS World University Rankings level.
University of Engineering and Technology (UET)
UET is said to be the most reputed engineering and technology degree awarding institute in the country. Overall rank of UET is stable for past two years. However, there is an improvement at Asian Ranking level.

For past many years, University of Karachi is at the same position. UoK is the premier center for education and research in the country and even in the Subcontinent and third in the world,
University of Lahore
University of Lahore has earned a good fame and name at international level. In term of undergraduate and postgraduate students, the university is doing well.
