Pakistan Post Office Inaugurates Cash on Delivery (COD) Service

(Last Updated On: 11/01/2016)

Pakistan Post Office has made a promising move to compete the private well-settled companies. It had started the Urgent Mail-UMS-cash on delivery in Islamabad and aimed to spread it in the major cities of the country soon. Cash on delivery (COD) was the mandatory step to expand the sales, profits and business horizons.

COD ensures the smooth delivery of orders with the least chance of fraud. COD, sometimes called collect on delivery, is the sale of goods by the mail order where payment is made on delivery rather than in advance. If the goods are not paid for, they are returned to the retailer. COD is necessary to captivate the local market and consumers as the use of the internet is increasing day by day. Online shopping websites are very much ‘in’ in the market, therefore, Pakistan Post Office initiates the urgent Mail-UMS-cash on delivery service.

It was the demand of time for PPO (Pakistan Post Office) to start such service, as it was claimed by the critics that PPO is not rubbing its shoulder with the true spirit of time, and the private companies were far ahead than Pakistan Post Office in the local market. They were providing cash on delivery service in a thriving way. It would help them to gain the consumers trust in a commendable way.

On the inauguration of the service, Director General said they would serve the public with devotedness, and harmonize the firm with the changing needs of the time. He claims to synchronize Pakistan postal service with e-technology. Further, he added, in future they would be taking such steps to compete with the rivals in the business and play a vital role in communication links.
