Registration of vehicles or vehicle registration plates of motor vehicles in Pakistan come under the jurisdiction of the respective territories and provinces. Eight types of number plates are being used in the country. Registration of number plates is itself considered as the registration of number plates in Pakistan. In fact it is one of the major sources of income for the excise and custom authorities working in the respective provinces and territories.

Vehicle Registration Number Plates in Islamabad
| STEP I All necessary forms regarding new vehicle registration can be downloaded from here or can be obtained from information counter situated within the premises of Excise Department, Islamabad. Fee can be calculated with the help of information desk or website link here. STEP II Following documents shall be required from the applicant:
STEP III In initial step, before initiating the one window operation, applicant will produce vehicle and documents before designated excise inspector for physical inspection and documents verification, inspector will report it on manual form ‘F’ as well as initial on application. STEP IV After verification of documents (if doument found complete in all aspects then further process will be executed, otherwise designated Data Entry Operator -DEO indicate the imbiquties in the document to the applicant), computerized form “F” will be issued, which will be signed by applicant for the athentication of particulars and due fee amount will be submit on same window to the designated DEO (Data Entry Operator). DEO will take the vehicle document file and issue the vehicle registration receipt to the applicant. STEP V Number plates fee (in cash) shall be deposited to Data Entry Operator (DEO) and Number plates will be issued from designated place. Relevant fee shall be estimated through following formula:
