Industry is the backbone of economy and if industry and this is what Pakistan’s new government believes “Stronger industry means stronger economy”. 100 days plan of the new government is working in every possible direction and it has not left the industry alone in the process.
The main and biggest industry of Pakistan is textile and most of the textile industries are located in Punjab but unfortunately prices of gas and electricity were kept way too much for the industries in Punjab by previous Governments and which caused a huge damage to the people of Punjab and its industrialists. Many factories shut downed as they couldn’t afford to meet the expenses and went in to loss due to the high prices of utility. While in other provinces of Pakistan the price of gas was very less as compared to Punjab. Additionally Punjab was not given gas supply for full time. All these circumstances became source of shutting down many industries and lots of people became jobless.
The new government has realised the issue and has reduced the gas prices for industries in Punjab by 54% which is huge relief for industries of the province. APTAMA, All Punjab textiles mills association confirmed the news and informed that now 100 mills will start running which closed due to high utility prices.
The authorities of APTAMA were grateful to the new government and said that they are thankful to new government on their step to revive textile industry again and further added that previous governments just kept on putting burden on textile industry of Punjab which they couldn’t bear and resulted in closure of many textile industries.
The new Government has reduced the price by Rs.800/- Per unit as before it was RS. 1400/- per unit and now its Rs. 600/- per unit.
A very overwhelming step by PTI government as it will bring out many new jobs and many will be able to win bread for their families in a better way.
