The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) is in the process of finalising lists of registered voters in the country. To facilitate the registered voters in the country, it has started SMS service in collaboration with NADRA so the voters can check their registration status from anywhere.
How to Check Voter Status via 8300?
The public can get information of its voter’s status by simply sending CNIC number. Just send the CNIC message to 8300 @ Rs. 2 service charges. The sender will immediately get the automated response with the name of the electoral area, block code and serial number.
Please type your CNIC without Hyphen (-) and spaces on your mobile and send it to 8300, you will get updated voter record.
In addition to SMS mentioned above service, the registered voter can check his particulars from respective District Election Commissioner office as well where the final electoral is also available. The addresses of the DEC offices across the country are available at the official website of ECP.
For the information of readers, the ECP has still not given the voting status to overseas Pakistanis. However, they can come to cast their vote in Pakistan if they are registered as voters. Voting from abroad is still not permissible under the law.
For female balloting booths, ECP will appoint the separate female polling staff especially in the urban areas, but female staff will not be available in the rural areas. Therefore elderly male staff will be appointed in such areas. In urban areas, the ECP will set the separate polling stations for male and female voters, however, in rural areas there will be same polling stations because of non-availability of female staff.
