The National Database Registration Authority aka NADRA, is responsible for various functions related to the data of the citizens. Most probably, this department is known for issuing CNIC’s to the people as soon as they reach age of 18. In the recent turn of events, NADRA has issued new fee structure for issuance of National Identity Card (NIC) and National identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP).
As per the notification issued, the first time issuance of CNIC under the normal time period would be free but if one opts the urgent service it will cost Rs.1150 and executive for Rs. 2150. It should also be noted here that under the urgent service when can get hands on his NIC within one week, whereas it takes more than 20 days under the normal procedure, which is free of cost.
Moreover, if one wants CNIC modification it will cost 400 under the normal service whereas 1150 and 2150 for the urgent and executive services. The same will be the charges if one would ask for the duplication of CNIC.
Talking about the smart cards or better to call them smart NIC, it would take Rs. 750 for the normal, 1500 for the urgent and 2500 for the executive service. It will be pertinent to mention here that same as above charges will be there applicable on different Smart NIC operational like duplication, modification or even issuance of new card as well.
On the other hand, NICOP, National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis fee comes under two categories as Zone A and Zone B.
