With the aim to minimise the rate of unemployment in the country and extend home-based work in the country, Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has launched Digital Skills Training Program.
Under the initiative of DigiSkills Scheme, Government of Pakistan aims to train at least one million people in the country. With this new training scheme, Government also aims to equip youth, fresh graduates, students, freelancers and professionals with advanced information technology knowledge, skills, latest tools and techniques to seize online working opportunities available at international levels.
The participants of Prime Minister Digital Skills Training Program will be given free laptop and all necessary training and knowledge to get access to online jobs marketplaces and living a decent life while earning from home.
Although Government of Pakistan is already providing eRozgar Scheme at Punjab Province level, but PM DigiSkills Training Program will open new doors of opportunities for those Pakistanis who are looking for work from home jobs opportunities in Pakistan or freelancing in Pakistan.
The program, in general, covers the following areas and wants to increase following in the country:
- To increase the number of freelancers in Pakistan
- To increase household incomes of unemployed youth, students, professionals and freelancers
- To increase IT exports of Pakistan
- To increase the number of experts and professionals in specialised skills

The following courses under the Prime Minister Digital Skills Training Program 2018 are being offered in the first batch:

- Creative Writing
- Graphics Design
- QuickBooks
- WordPress
- AutoCAD
- Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
- Digital Marketing
- Digital Literacy

The willing applicants need to get their selves register at http://www.digiskills.pk by giving the following details:

Last Date to Apply & Commencement of Classes
Currently, the online registration is in the process, and the competent authorities make no deadline. However, the first batch of DigiSkills Training Program will start in May 2018.

Prime Minister Digital Skills Training Program is just like eRozgar Training Program. However, many points create the fine line between too. First of all, Prime Minister Digital Skills Training Program can be even joined by the graduates with 14 years of education as well whereas the minimum requirement for eRozgar Training Scheme is 16 years of education.
Moreover, Prime Minister Digital Skills Training Program also features laptop loan for selected applicants as well. It will make the youth able to get online jobs and earn in a non-traditional way from home. Along with Ministry of Information Technology and Communication, Virtual University and PTCL are also coordinating in the said program.
