General Elections 2018 in Pakistan have come to end and the news they brought in is PTI has emerged as the biggest party in Pakistan. Imran-Khan led a political party not only did big at National Assembly level but also gained massive support in all four of the provinces. With things happening this way it seems that 22-years long struggle of cricketer-turned-politician have become fruitful as he is a great position to become newest Prime Minister of Pakistan. But a young guy of Multan has done something unexpected to PTI as he being an independent candidate outsmarted PTI Vice-Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi in elections at pp-217.
This news of the young boy, Salman Naeem even got the media attention at a national and international level as PTI remained quite dominant throughout in elections in Multan but the result of pp-217, which constitutes of Multan’s Mumtazabad area was an eye-opener for Imran Khan and his vice Qureshi as well.
The independent candidate, Muhammad Salman Naeem bagged 35,294 votes, whereas PTI’s Shah Mehmood Qureshi managed only 31,716 votes. These results where nothing short of a shocker for PTI leaders and followers as Multan was the city where all contested national assembly seats went in their favour.
Who is Muhammad Salman Naeem PP-217?
People are on edge of their seats to know about this young boy from Multan. For past four years he had been the prominent face of PTI in Multan and with his massive social plans throughout the city, he made his distinguished place in the hearts of people of his constituency. Salman Naeem, who is a leading businessman in Multan with most of his businesses in the food sector decided to contest in the elections 2018 after he was reused the ticket for pp-217 by Shah Multan Qureshi just in the last minute.
With his father’s support, Salman Naeem decided to contest election independently and at the very beginning people mocked him for this decision. But still he remained determined as he was quite sure that people would for him as he has done dozens of special projects, right from his pocket in the last several years.
