The good news of the year is here for Pakistan. The world-famous medical university the Agha Khan University is enlisted among the top 100 clinical medicine universities and among the top 200 public health institutions of the world. The updated list appeared in the Academic Ranking of the World Universities. It is also referred to as the Shanghai Report in the world of medicine. The report includes an annual report and ranking of the various universities rendering knowledge in different parts of the world. Luckily, this year the annual Shanghai Report created the list of the top universities and it was only one Pakistani University that made its mark. In the list of 500 international universities, only Agha Khan University is included from Pakistan. It is included in the list of the top professional institutions that are giving education in the field of clinical medicine and public health.
In the ranking of the popular clinical medicine, they said university ranks between 76 and 100. Previously the same was included among the universities ranking from 151 to 200. This ranking appeared last year in 2018. Therefore it won’t be wrong to say that there is a considerable improvement in the position. As far as the public health is concerned the position of this university rests between 151 and 200 slots.
The President of the university Firoz Rasul is happy with this ranking and says it is a sign of hope for the people in the developing parts of the world. He further added that matter of pride for us who are working in a country with limited resources. He is hopeful that they have strived hard to reach the global standards and would continue endeavoring for a better position.
It is important to keep in mind that the Shanghai Ranking Consultancy is an independent organization that is creating similar rankings since 2009.
