Pakistan has been working to promote tourism in the country and there is no better way to promote it than to organize an international sports event. Pakistan is organizing the Pakistan International Paragliding Cup that is going to take place in September. The five-day paragliding tournament will start on September 27th and will end on October 1st. the launching ceremony of the event took place on Friday where the chief guest of the event was Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider. Apart from Mr. Raja Farooq, other cabinet members and stakeholders also graced the occasion of the launching ceremony.
The paragliding contest will be held at Peer Chanasi to Muzaffarabad Airport. The site is also said to be one of the best paragliding sites in the world and players coming here will thoroughly enjoy the site. This is the first time that Pakistan is organizing an international paragliding tournament on the mountains of Kashmir as people will get a chance to witness international players as well from different countries. The key events of the Cup will include paragliding, aerial aerobatics, and sky diving. It is expected that more than 150 players will take part in the completion of about 50 countries.
The five-day event will also feature other activities which will include cricket league matches, horse dancing, cultural performances, and concerts. The government believes that a lot of foreigners will be visiting Pakistan for the event and it is a good chance to promote tourism in the country so that they can witness the warmth and hospitality of the people of Pakistan. The event will help promote tourism in AJK as well with the youth also being attracted towards paragliding. Security of the event will be taken care of by the Pakistan Army.
