National University of Science and TEchnology amazed and make us proud once again. The university improves four slots in Quacquarelli Symonds Asia University Ranking 2020 in which it is now at 83th ranks.
For three years, NUST has improved 29 ranks and reach at this point. Furthermore,the university is in top 400 international university rankings.
Besides NUST, other universities of Pakistan are also included in the list in which Lahore University of Management Sciences or LUMS, Quaid-e-Azam University or QAU, COMSATS Institute of Information Technology and Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences or PIEAS are also included in the list of top 200. LUMS is at 110, QAU 111, COMSAT 151 and PIEAS 168.
All four dropped some slots or in the ranking. Other universities which are part of this ranking are University of Karachi, Aga Khan University, DOW Institute of Medical Health Sciences, University of Engineering Technology, Institute of Space Technology, University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Bahauddin Zakriya University, University of Punjab, Iqra University, NED, the University of Sargodha and many others are included.
However, as compared to India whose 96 universities are on the list, our country’s 29 universities are able to reach the list. Its IIT-Bombay, IIT-Madras and IIT-Delhi are at 34, 50 and 43 respectively in the list. Besides, the neighboring country’s eight universities are in the top 100.
Yet, China left all countries behind. Its 118 institutes are in the list in which Fudan University, Peking University, Zhejiang University, and Tsinghua University made their place in the top 10 by being at seventh, fifth, sixth and fourth ranks respectively.
QS Asia University Ranking is a small part of QS World University Ranking. The group judge educational institutes on 10 parameters in which internationalization, academic reputation, student-faculty ratio, employer reputation, number of Ph.D. professors, per cited by university and papers published by each faulty are included.
This year, 557 universities are included in the list and 17 regions of Asia are covered but only four of them achieved a place in the top 10.
NUST has improved a lot but country wise, we dropped down because other universities dropped their ranking down this year.
