The latest high-end flagship smartphones, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, were announced on September 7 and are available alongside the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus. It has mainly received positive reviews, with critics praising the device’s newest and most notable features, such as the always-on display with the Dynamic Island, the upgraded cameras with the 48-megapixel primary lens, the car crash detection and satellite connectivity for emergencies, the A16 Bionic chip for quicker performance, and the new Deep Purple and Space Black color options. Since the release of Emergency SOS via Satellite was delayed until November, it was impossible to test it in advance.
Island of Constant Change
The Dynamic Island, available only on iPhone 14 Pro models, is Apple’s replacement for the notch on the standard iPhone 13. The software helps the cutout change size and form for incoming calls, alerts, notifications, Face ID verification, timers, turn-by-turn navigation, Live Activities, and more.
