Cricket matches seldom ties, and for a tie there are two reasons either weather conditions or great match. The later reason happened in this ODI it was a miracle. Pakistan batted first and got off to a good start but both the openers Ahmad Shahzad and Nasir jamshed fell successively after scoring 17 and 20 runs respectively. The middle order trembled but Misbah stood strong for his 75 of 128 balls. The debutant Haris Sohail played a decent knock of 26 under pressure. In the end Umar Akmal made quick 40 runs of 40 balls and Wahab scored fast 19 of 15. Pakistan made a low total of 229 runs and set target of 230 runs and it seemed that it would be piece of cake for West Indies but Pakistani bowlers came strong and all the time it looked Pakistan have situation in under control. As Junaid Khan cleaned bowled the greatest threat of the match on 8 runs. West Indies were 50 for 3 then a good partnership was constructed between Samuels and Simmons. Irfan was again introduced to the attack and broke the partnership by taking wicket of Samuels. The West Indian wickets started to fell at regular intervals. Junaid and Irfan bowled brilliant spells. In 48 th over Narine hit Saeed for 14 runs and in turn Ajmal bowled him on 5th delivery of the over and single was taken by the new batsman Holder on last ball. Junaid bowled a very good 49th over and the game went to last over where West Indies needed 16 runs to win. Last man of West Indies hit 2 fours and a six on Wahab, and the game became more intense and game went to last ball as West Indies needed 3 runs of last delivery. Wahab bowled a good length ball on off side that took edge to third man, for a moment it seemed that its gone to boundary but third man was placed there he picked the ball and threw it at keeper end where the WI batsmen were struggling to get 2nd run and it looked that Umar Akmal will collect the ball cleanly and Holder will get run out, but it wasn’t to be Umar Akmal missed the throw and WI batsmen completed 2 runs and tied the game. The series is level at 1-1 after this tie.
