It was mentioned earlier that fastest bowler in Cricket history, Shoaib Akhtar is going to marry a 17 years old girl from Hari Pur. The girl named Rubab is daughter of a businessman Mushtaq Khan and both the families met in Madina during Hajj last year.
Shoaib Akhtar took a hard stance over Twitter that the news is not true and was not happy with the journalists. But now the news has proven to be correct as the Registrar of Nikkah Qasim Qaseem has confirmed that 40 years old Rawalpindi Express has married 20 years old Rubab.

Earlier age of the girl was told to be 17 years and different people commented that she is quite young to be married and official age of marriage in Pakistan is 18 years at least.
According to Nikkah Registrar Qasim Qaseem, the wedding was very simple and parents and few relatives of the girl were part of the ceremony. Amount of Mehr was 5 lac Rupees. It is also being said on news that last night Shoaib Akhtar has brought his bride to her new home in Rawalpindi.
Some news sources claim that Nikkah of Shoaib Akhtar was carried out by Moulana Qasim Tayyab. It is also claimed that almost five months ago, the engagement ceremony of Shoaib Akhtar took place but it was kept secret.
Sources close to the fast bowler claim that since Shoaib Akhtar has been close to religion and Tableeghi Jumaat in recent times, that is why he has carried out his marriage ceremony with utmost simplicity.
