A Pakistani short drama named “Baat Cheet” starring Sarwat Gilani and Joshinder Chaggar has been invited to participate at the 68th Annual Cannes Film Festival that is scheduled to be held from 13 to 24 May 2015 in Cannes, France.
Baat Cheet is the story of two friends, Anjum and Mehreen, living in Karachi who met recently. Conversations starts between two fellows about the life of an ordinary people and challenges faced by them in their daily life. Drama was written, directed, and produced by Rayika Choudri in May 2014 in Urdu language.
The film had already achieved the three prominent awards namely Documentary & Short International Movie Awards (Indonesia) in directing, International Short Film Categories and Emmy-Winning Documentary Filmmaker by assistant director Misha Rizvi.
Now it is hoping to grab a prominent award in Short Film Category at 68th Annual 2015 Cannes Film Festival.
Sarwat Gilani is known for her work in Pakistani film and TV series such as Ishq Gumshuda, Meri Zaat Zarra-e-Benishan, Mata-e-Jaan Hai Tu, and Dil-e-Muztar. Joshinder Chaggar is known for her work in Good Morning Karachi, Poshak, Josh and Moor.
