Punjab Government is taking a lot of interest to polish computer programming skills in children, and they have approached tech giants Google and Microsoft to visit Pakistan. The Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas said that he is in contact with both companies and he is very hopeful that he will convince both to introduce their certification for children in grades 9 and 10.
The official twitter account of PTI also confirmed this new. In a tweet, they said that Punjab minister has been in talks with Google and Microsoft for these courses. According to him, the officials from Google and Microsoft will be coming to Pakistan for the first time this year. They have the mission to advance the skills of high school students through certification courses in software development.
He further added that we have told them that in Pakistan not all the students go to college after tenth grade and we cannot change this. So why can’t we give them better skills so that they can do a lot of things related to technology? Let them offer a software development course in 9th and 10th grade so that they can do something for themselves. The new world is all about technology, and now a day there are a lot of online earning platforms as well where they can present their skills and earn well from themselves.
He further added that suppose if these kids drop out after the tenth, they will have a certification of Google and Microsoft. Hopefully, the officials from both companies visit Pakistan soon and we will get good news for our children.
“Technology is the Future”, Raas concluded.
