The case of Qandeel Baloch is not hidden from everyone and at one point in time, it was one of the most talked case as well which also included Mufti Abdul Qavi in it. Back in 2016, the model was strangled to death at her home by her brother Waseem along with his accomplices. The model was killed by her brother because according to him she was bringing a bad name to the family. There had been a case going on in the court and now it looks as if justice has been served as Waseem has been convicted by a Multan Model court. The court convicted him in the murder of his sister Qandeel Baloch and as a result of it, he was sentenced 25 years of jail.
While Waseem was convicted in the case, other accused including Mufti Abdul Qavi were acquitted by the Multan Model court. The case against Waseem was lodged by the father of Qandeel Baloch as the parents submitted an affidavit in which the names of the accused were given. The parents had said that they will not pardon their sons for killing their daughters and asked for capital punishment as well for their unforgivable crime that they conducted. The parents however then submitted another affidavit where they in which they said that they had forgiven their sons for the hideous crime that they conducted and also asked the court to acquit them from the case and close it for good.
However the plea of the parents was rejected by the court where they pardoned their sons. Hence the proceedings of the case continued and added pressure from media and social media was another reason that this case remained in the highlights. The case against Qandeel’s brothers was registered against the Anti-Honour Killing laws through which there will be no pardon if it was made three months later. Hence the case was to continue and a decision has been made that will serve justice to the killer Waseem who drugged his sister before killing her. And the decision will be a historic one as the killer goes behind the bar really soon.
