Pakistan has been blessed a country in terms that there have been so many talented people who are making the country proud. One such legend of the country is Madam Noor Jehan, who sprayed the magic with her voice and people till date still remember the songs that she sang. Her melodious voice was the reason why she was given the title of Malika-e-Taranum, queen of melody. While Madam Noor Jehan is no more in this world, her voice is still here to entertain us and the songs that she sang will always remain in our hearts forever. Today on 21st September, it would have been the 93rd birthday of the legendary singer who had us all with her amazing songs including the national songs.
Madam Noor Jehan passed away on December 23rd 2000, but till date she is remembered in the industry and everywhere else just because of how much she gave to the country. Born in Kasur, Noor Jehan also performed in different movies as an actress with her notable performances being in Mirza Ghalib, Khandaan, Baaji, Chan Wey, and others. During her career, Madam Noor Jehan sang and recorded more than 10,000 songs which also included songs in different regional languages like Sindhi and Punjabi. The singer had been awarded different awards including Tamgha Imtiaz, Sitara-e-Imtiaz, Pride of Performance, and others. Noor Jehan had all the top civilian awards that one can get just because of her services.
She was such a big name in the industry that actors from different parts of the world were her fan. Dilip Kumar, the legendary Indian actor also visited the singer during her last days in Agha Khan Hospital. Hairstylist Nabila in a post revealed that she went to give a haircut to Madam Noor Jehan when she was in Agha Khan Hospital as Dilip Kumar was visiting from India and she wanted to look best. The stylist said that it turned out to be the last haircut of the legendary singer. Though Madam Noor Jehan is not with us anymore, but she will continue to rule the hearts of everyone with her melodious voice for many years to come.
